Tips for Taking the Adaptive Exam of MCSE

It is said that the adaptive exam is the major type of Microsoft’s examinations in the future. Therefore, the author introduces some skills of taking adaptive exam in detail here.
The quantity of the adaptive exam questions is not fixed; the questions are emerged dynamically with the basic principle is that the difficulty of the questions can be adjusted according to the case of questions answered before. For instance, if you do right a question, then the next question may be much harder, if you have done all the questions right, the difficulty will be increased all the time (of course, the total difficulty grade is that two or three, the most difficult one is just much flexible, but not the kind never seen or not knowing what is said). On the contrary, if you do wrong a question, then the next question will be much easier. And if the next question is right, the difficulty of following questions will be increased and so on. Such question model is based on the theory that if a candidate does a difficult question wrong, he cannot be considered as on a low lever, likewise, if he does right a simple question, he is not definitely on high level. Only in this way, from simple to difficult, can the candidate’s level be well calculated. Therefore, if a more difficult question comes out after answering a difficult one, then congratulations to you for the right answer of your previous question. Contrarily, if a simple question comes up, then you must have done wrong previous question. So if you do several simple questions continually, you must be careful. But there is no need to worry too much about it, since the adoption of adaptive exam score is relatively low, generally is between 550 to 600, and another chance will be given in the final if you really have done badly in all previous questions. However, turning back to previous questions is not allowed in this kind of examination. That is to say, you can not tag the unsure questions and leave them to the end. Each question has a NEXT button to the questions ahead but not a previous button to the questions before, which means you have to make the right judgment on each question. Anyway you must select an answer and once you click NEXT button, the answer will be submitted, can no longer be modified, so special attentions need to be paid on answering these questions. So far, the 70-291 exam is adaptive with examination time is 90 minutes and the admission score is 560 points. (more…)
