How to install PHP on ISS7 in Vista/Windows Server 2008?

At present, many websites were written primarily in PHP. But the server environments on which the websites run may not be FreeBSD, Linux. Many PHP websites run on Windows 2000, Windows 2003, and Windows Server 2008.According as many tests; PHP on Windows Server 2008 has advantages. Now, we’ll show how easy it is to get PHP up and configured on your IIS7 webserver.
The system environment: Vista/Windows Server 2008.
Firstly, install IIS7 such as control panels\programmers and features, windows, by default; remember to choose the two options of ISAPI.

The next step is to install PHP.
Download PHP and Windows binaries. Unzip the php…zip file to your drive. I usually unzip it to D:\php.In this catalog, find php.ini-dist and rename it php.ini. Open php.ini :at first, find extension_dir=”./”,and replace it with extension_dir=”d:\php”; and then find Windows Extensions ,do the following modifications: extension=php_mbstring.dll
  extension=php_gd2.dll
 extension=php_MySQL.dll
and then save the modifications, copy the file to the system windows directory .

The third step is to create the application pool, whose type is .net which is set as “unmanaged type”.
After all of these steps, you create a new Web site and start “Read” and “Run script” permissions, and then add ISAPI Filters and Handler Mapping.
Finally,add D:\PHP\php5isapi.dl into Handler Mapping.
Now, successfully, you have installed PHP on ISS7.

The advantage of AD in SQL SERVER 2008

Active Directory provides the means to manage the identities and relationships that make up your organization’s network.

The Active Directory technology has been enhanced to a strong technical architecture, which was established in early NT, and expanded in Windows Server 2008.The function extended from the single management to the big and complex domain structure expanded through the site and forest, which reach the goal that the Microsoft hope to resolve how to serve the multi-national corporations. Compared with similar products, the deep integration of AD and the Microsoft products extended the functions of the Active Directory from the side. For example, if Exchange Server built on AD, an integrated Email-solution could be attained. If ISA Server created on AD, an integrated Firewall-solution could be attained. An intranet centralized office solution could be attained when Office and SharePoint on AD. Similarly, they all could be integrated with AD, such as SQL Server database, SMS, RRAS, CA, RASDIUS, IIS, Cluster, WSUs and even DHCP Server, to achieve centralized management. Additionally, some of them work only when integrated with AD. The Microsoft products based on the AD technology can resolve most problems the enterprise will meet with.

Improvements in Active Directory deliver key strategic benefits for medium and large enterprises, enabling greater administrator and user productivity. Expanding on the foundation established in Windows 2000, Windows Server 2003 improves the versatility, manageability, and dependability of Active Directory. Organizations can benefit from further reductions in cost while increasing the efficiency in which they share and manage the various elements of the enterprise.

Download: Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 SP2 x64 (5 Language Standalone)

Consumers with Windows Vista SP1 can visit the Microsoft Download Center or use Windows Update (WU) to install SP2, but my suggestion is to turn on Automatic Update (AU) and sometime during the coming months your computer will download and install SP2. Similar to previous releases, SP2 delivery over Automatic Update is a “throttled release” which will begin in June.

Business customers who require additional time to prepare for the download and deployment of SP2 can use (more…)
